God will never ask us to Obey Him and then show us His Love for obeying Him. In fact, the opposite is always true. God will always show us His love first. He will pour out His love upon us through the comfort and healing of His Holy Spirit.
We can only be obedient to God if we truly love Him. And the only way for us to Love God, is to have His Divine Unconditional Love in our hearts.
We cannot accept God's Love unless we see, understand, and know in our hearts what God's Son Jesus Christ did for us. Unless we get a glimpse of how He suffered here on earth for us, what happened to Him during Passion Week before He died on the Cross, the numerous beatings, humiliations, and the hurtful rejection of Him by mankind, we will never know His Love. Only a Love that can endure these things like He did and still love us, is True Love. This is the Love we want in our hearts. A love that will never stop, never fail, no matter what happens.
If we have meditated on Jesus and the Cross and never shed a tear, how can we then say we know what Love is?
After God showed His Love for man by creating him, fellow-shipping with him, giving him all the earth to subdue and giving him a woman, He asked him to obey by not eating of a certain tree.
After God's Love delivered the Israelite' s out of Egypt, He gave them the Ten Commandments.
After Jesus healed, He said; “go and sin no more”, He did not say; “go and stop sinning, then come back to me”.
When we accept God's Love and experience His Love, He will expect us to Obey Him, because He knows the only way we can Obey Him is to Love Him.
God no longer requires a sacrifice for sin but requires us to Obey Him. If we falter, we sacrifice our fellowship with Him.
Our Lord is a right now God. He lives in the now. He is here with us right now. This is the perfect time to allow Him through your readiness of will, in prayerful meditation, to allow Him to pierce your heart with His Love. He will do it. He will take away your hurt, your anger, your hard heart and replace it with His heart of soft, tender, Love.
