Whether you believe the Lord is coming back soon or not, you still can avail yourself of one of the most healing, wonderful experiences you can have in your entire life.
And that is Confessing your sins. Confessing your sins to a Priest is not only a quick easy way for full forgiveness, but you have the one person Jesus Christ has bestowed His Authority here on earth to forgive sin as Jesus forgave in His ministry.
Confessing sin can heal anything that is a problem to you, an addiction, or a physical or psychological problem, but most of it will heal you Spiritually, you will have a clear conscience and a sense of God in your heart and life that you may have never had before.
Even all secular 12 Step groups have confession in their 5th Step because they know the importance of confession to healing.
I have heard over and over again by many devout Catholics that they do not need to go to confession because they have nothing to confess, they truly do not believe they have committed sin or a sinner who needs forgiveness. This is very sad. This is a pride that is very dangerous. Pride always comes before the fall. When we do not live a life of humility and do not humble ourselves before man and God, we are living a lie to ourselves.
This is Christmas time. A time when many fallen away Catholics still attend Mass, but do not believe in the teachings of the Church. This is one of the most important things that needs to be confessed, that you have played God and decided to turn your back on Jesus and His Church. This is the time, this is the year, this is a historical point in the history of mankind, you need to take a stand. If you stand for nothing you will fall for anything. Go back to Church and also go back to Confession!
Here is a list of many sins. Most of these you will not have done, but take a good look, there might be something, anything, one thing on the list that God can use to quicken your spirit and to lead you back to Confession.
